Sri Ramakrishna, was born on Wednesday 18 February 1836 (6 Falgun, 1282 Bongabda i.e., Bangla era; 1757 in the Saka era). The auspicious moment of his birth, marked by the combination of the second day in the lunar waxing crescent with the “Purvabhadrapada” star, propelled him towards union with the Infinite while in the world.
